NURS 607: Measurement and Evaluation in Health Sciences
This course is designed to facilitate the application of principles and theories into techniques of educational measurement and evaluation. The underlying premise for the value of such knowledge is that evaluation provides evidence for sound decision-making in programs of higher education. Moreover, students will acquire the competence in the planning and development of classroom and clinical performance evaluation tools as well as analyzing and interpreting test results within the context of current ethical, legal, and social educational guidelines. Focus will be on test equating and unbiased test design, basics of item banking, criterion-reference test development aiming at developing students’ insights into major issues in measurement and evaluation.
