CHEM 109 Introduction to Organic Chemistry

 Topics covered include the chemistry of aliphatic hydrocarbons, aromatic compounds, alcohols, carboxylic acids, and amines. In the latter part of the course, carbohydrates, amino acids, and nucleic acids are introduced. Additionally, the course includes laboratory sessions where students learn techniques for separating and identifying organic compounds based on their functional groups.
