CSC220: Second Semester/2016-2017
The course introduces basic digital logic design techniques, general microprocessor architecture and computer organization, the design of the arithmetic and logic unit (ALU).
Objectives:
›Help students learn the fundamental elements of computer architecture from a functional, hardware perspective;
›Foster an appreciation of organizational models and design decisions that determine the overall performance, capabilities, and limitations of a computer system;
›Help students to understand microprocessor architecture, computer organization and assembly programming.
