Aims and goals/ skills
of the course:
1- Define the term nomenclature
2- Identify external morphology of teeth
3- Identify internal composition of teeth
4- Study each tooth and recognize important landmarks
5- Identify occlusion of teeth
6- Identify and describe the bones of the head and neck,
including the workings of the temporomandibular joint.
7- • Describe the blood flow and nerve supply of the head and
neck. And innervation of oral and dental structures.
8- emphasis on the structure and functional relationships in the
oral cavity.(tongue and salivary glands).Content of the course:

different types of dentitions

Muscles of Mastication
Tooth anatomy
Dental formula
Blood supply of the head
Tooth identification systems
Nerve supply of Oral cavity
Anatomical landmarks of the crown
Individual surface anatomy permanent dentition
Tempromandibular joint
Internal composition of teeth
The Tongue
Occlusion of teeth- Dental arch formation and alignment of teeth
Salivary Glands and lymph nodes
Relation of each tooth with its antagonist
