Knowledge has become a key for organization to success in the new economy. Organisation’s ability to use knowledge assets helps maintaining a sustainable competitive advantage. Consequently, knowledge management (KM) has emerged as a key focus for many modern organisations. 

The Knowledge Management course introduces the fundamental concepts of knowledge management, as well as the skills of its implementation in business context. It gives students solid foundation covering the challenges, concepts, and techniques dealing with management of knowledge in organizations. By taking MIS 419, the Knowledge Management, student should have a good understanding of Knowledge Management and knowledge management Systems. Particularly this course covers the theoretical foundation for knowledge, knowledge management life cycle within enterprises, and the role played by number of factors including IT and corporate culture in KM initiatives. Furthermore, Students will gain practical experience in involving in using number of emerging IT technologies such as Wikis and Microblogs  to perform the major KM activities such as knowledge capture, Knowledge creation and Knowledge sharing.
