Fahad Alfaiz 

Dr. Fahad Alfaiz is an Associate Professor of Giftedness and Creativity at King Saud University and a distinguished specialist in the field of gifted education and the development of educational systems that support the identification and nurturing of gifted learners. He brings extensive academic and professional experience that spans university teaching, educational supervision, institutional consulting, and scholarly research, with a strong focus on advancing high-quality practices in gifted identification, enrichment program design, and impact evaluation at both student and institutional levels.

Dr. Alfaiz earned his Ph.D. in Gifted Education from the University of Arizona in the United States. He also holds a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction for Gifted Education, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Special Education with a specialization in gifted education from King Saud University. In addition, he has completed academic and applied diploma studies in Arabic language and computer applications. This diverse academic background has helped shape a professional profile that combines a solid educational foundation with a practical understanding of field-based needs.

Throughout his career, he has held a number of influential professional roles. He worked in the Ministry of Education, later assumed academic positions at King Saud University, and also served as a consultant for the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba). In these roles, he contributed to developmental, research, and organizational projects related to gifted education policy, nomination and identification mechanisms, enrichment programming, and the evaluation of national initiatives. He has also served on scientific committees for local and international conferences, contributed to the peer review of academic research, and supported initiatives aimed at fostering creativity and excellence.

His scholarly record includes publications in peer-reviewed journals on key topics such as gifted student identification, the psychological and social challenges facing gifted learners, the accuracy of teacher and parent nominations, the development of culturally responsive assessment tools, and the evaluation of summer and enrichment programs. He is also deeply interested in building national frameworks that strengthen the effectiveness of gifted education in Saudi Arabia.
