416 PHT Clinical Microbiology
This course deals with the history of microbiology and an Introduction to different microbial groups with respect to classification. The general morphology of different groups of microorganisms and their way of nutrition and different growth conditions is then discussed. The course also deals with bacterial genetics and protein synthesis. Moreover, Viruses classification and pathogenesis as well as different fungi and the different groups of parasites were then discussed. Host parasite relationship and pathogenesis will be included. Finally the course will cover those different microbes causing human infections (skin, eye respiratory, urinary and CNS) with respect to their general characteristics, pathogenesis, Laboratory diagnosis, epidemiology, and treatment
