MIS 555: E-Business Project Management (Graduate Course)
This course provides an extensive analysis and evaluation of how technology project management involves the planning, monitoring, and control of the people, process, and events that occur as a computer system evolves from preliminary concept to operational implementation.
The purpose of this course is to enable students to understand the roles, responsibilities and management techniques of the technology project manager. The course provides an extensive understanding of how technology project management involves the planning, monitoring, and control of the people, process, and events that occur as a computer system evolves from preliminary concept to operational implementation. Topics include project management and the organization, work breakdown structure and scheduling, resources and project financing, project control and evaluation, management considerations, critical success factors and risk management. The students will complete a series of readings, assignments and individual and team projects, created especially to apply their knowledge at a practical level.
