BIOGRAPHY:

FARRUKH ASLAM KHAN is a Professor of Cybersecurity at the Center of Excellence in Information Assurance (CoEIA), King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He has over 23 years of teaching and research experience at various institutions. He received the M.S. degree in Computer System Engineering from the GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Pakistan, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from Jeju National University, South Korea, in 2003 and 2007, respectively. He also received professional trainings from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University, IBM, and other institutions. He is the Founding Head of the Wireless Networking and Security (WiNGS) Research Group at National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Islamabad, Pakistan. He has published over 135 research articles in refereed international journals and conferences. He has supervised/co-supervised 6 Ph.D. students and 20 M.S. thesis students. Several M.S. and Ph.D. students are currently working under his supervision. His name has been listed in the World’s Top 2% Scientists in a study conducted by Stanford University in 2022 and 2023. His research interests include Cyber Security, Computational Intelligence, Wireless Sensor Networks and e-Health, Smart Grid, Bio-inspired and Evolutionary Computation, and the Internet of Things.

 

Prof. Khan serves/served on the Editorial Board of prestigious international journals, including IEEE Access, PLOS One, Neurocomputing (Elsevier), Complex & Intelligent Systems (Springer), Ad Hoc and Sensor Wireless Networks, KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Systems, Human-Centric Computing and Information Sciences (Springer), PeerJ Computer Science, and Security and Communication Networks. He is on the panel of reviewers of over 50 reputed international journals including ACM Transactions on Sensor Networks (TOSN), ACM Transactions on Intelligent Systems and Technology (TIST), IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering (TNSE), IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing (TCC), IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics (JBHI), IEEE Systems Journal, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Communications Magazine, IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine, etc. He has also served as a TPC member of numerous international conferences. He has co-organized several international conferences and workshops and has delivered many keynote and invited speeches. He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society (BCS) and a Senior Member of the IEEE.
