200 NGA- Writing Report I

This specialized course aims particularly to introduce students to the different types of reports and extending students' knowledge of English Language. Students learn intensively how to write correct sentences and learn the art of cohesion. Focus is also made on the mechanics of writing including punctuation, capitalization and other necessary tools. The course equips students with the basic tools and techniques for writing a well-organized report and enables them to develop four types of reports in paragraph and essay forms.

The aims of the course are as follows:

  • To develop the skills needed to write scientific and technical documents properly.
  • To introduce students to the rhetorical principles and compositional practices necessary for writing professional reports.
  • To prepare and write well-organized reports and essays in clear and persuasive language.
  • To prepare technical reports addressing a predefined set of requirements.
  • To act responsibly in carrying out their homework.
  • To work effectively within a team.
  • To communicate effectively.
