Dr. Durga Prasad Samontaray is an internationally experienced academic and practitioner whose career reflects a sustained engagement with both industry and academia, positioning him as a role model in bridging theory with practice. With over 28 years of professional experience, including senior academic leadership and corporate experience, he has consistently contributed to transforming business education by enhancing relevance, rigor, and societal impact.
Currently serving as Associate Professor of Finance at the College of Business Administration, King Saud University, an AACSB-accredited institution, Dr. Samontaray has played a pivotal role in aligning academic programs with industry expectations through outcome-based education, assurance of learning, and accreditation-driven quality frameworks. His leadership in AACSB accreditation and curriculum development has strengthened industry readiness, employability, and applied learning outcomes.
Dr. Samontaray’ s research spans corporate governance, ESG, sustainability, banking, and financial markets, with a strong focus on emerging and Gulf economies. His work has been published in 39 Web of Science, Scopus, and ABDC-ranked journals, and includes case studies, editorial books, and a registered patent.
