Durga Prasad Samontaray

I’m Dr. Durga Prasad Samontaray, working as an Associate Professor – Finance, College of Business Administration (CBA), King Saud University (KSU), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Joined CBA, KSU in October 2009 as an Assistant Professor - Finance and promoted to the grade of Associate Professor – Finance in June 2011. College of Business Administration (CBA), King Saud University (KSU) is having more than 350 faculty members and a prominent business school of Saudi Arabia and Gulf Cooperation Council. CBA is accredited by AACSB and the national accreditation body NCAAA.
I’m having a total work experience of 20 years in various fields of Academic, Industry, Research and Consultancy. My Doctorate degree (2006) from Faculty of Commerce, University of Allahabad (A Central University, India) in the area of corporate governance and my teaching and research interests are in the area of Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Investment Analysis, Asset Valuation, Financial Risk Management and Financial Modeling.
Currently I’m the PhD Guide and/or Examiner of KSU as well as four different universities of India. Member of Editorial Review boards of seven international Referred journals. Published twenty articles and cases in different international journals, text books, and played the role of Chairman/Member of Scientific & Technical Committees of several International Conferences. Taught various courses related to finance in Ph. D, Master and Under Graduate level.
Teaching Plan & Philosophy:
Through the blending of information technology into the curriculum of finance (e.g. through the blending of Pearson my finance lab and learning management system or Blackboard), I will try to enhance the assurance of learning of the students. One of my teaching philosophies is to incorporate live case studies of HBSP and ECCH  and also use self-developed cases for enhancing the practical learning process. Similarly, the teaching process will be a perfect combination of real-life case studies, industrial simulations and the inductive as well as the deductive way of learning.
Learning of Finance is not complete without the application of Excel Spreadsheets; and financial calculator, therefore, each course will be dealt with the application of Excel Spreadsheets and financial calculator.
Research Proposal, Plan and Philosophy:
My current research interest is in the areas of corporate governance, corporate finance, financial markets and related fields. My research objective is to present one international Conference/Seminar in an academic year and convert it into a research paper in an ABDC listed or SCOPUS indexed journal. Similarly,
