Speech Language Pathology, RHS 426
This course aims to provide students with an overview of communication problems associated with palatal clefting and interdisciplinary treatment including embryology, anatomy, classification, neonatal problems, hearing, surgery, speech, and social, mental, and emotional development. It will provide an overview of cerebral palsy, including such topics as causes and types, symptomatology, typical and atypical motor development, associated disorders, communication and feeding of individuals with various types of cerebral palsy, and assessment and treatment.
