I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Zoology at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I hold a Master’s degree with Honours in Zoology from Punjab University, Chandigarh, and a Ph.D. in Fisheries from Panjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India.

My research experience includes serving as a Senior Research Fellow (1999–2001) on an ICAR-funded project titled "Use of Agro-Industrial By-Products in Cost-Effective Carp Feed." Over the years, I have been actively engaged in research in several intramural and extramural projects.
My teaching interests include Ecology, Environmental Pollution, Aquaculture, and Fish Biology. Since 2009, I have been mentoring and supervising graduate students, contributing to their academic and research development.

Over the years, my research has primarily focused on Toxicology, particularly Aquatic Toxicology, Heavy Metal Pollution, and the Role of Natural Antioxidants and Phytocompounds in Ameliorating Toxicity. More recently, my work has shifted toward Emerging Pollutants, including Microplastics, Antibiotics, and PFAs ("Forever Chemicals"). My research aligns with key themes in Environmental Science, such as:

Investigation of classic, emerging, and bioactive contaminants in humans and the environment through target analysis, suspect and non-target screening, and effect-directed analysis.
Exploring the mode of action of contaminants from molecular initiating events to adverse outcomes.
Nanotechnology applications in combating environmental pollution and disease.
I have authored and co-authored several publications in international journals indexed in the Science Citation Index. Additionally, I served as a session chair and presenter at the International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology in Houston, Texas, USA (2014). I am committed to strengthening multidisciplinary research and outreach, and constantly looking for novel approaches to address environmental issues.
