Dr Abdelhabib Semlali is a associate professor in the field of molecular biology, immunology and cell biology. He got his Ph.D in France, followed by a postdoctoral training for 7 years in laval university in Canada. He reached King Saud University as a assistant professor in 2011. He is a member of GRC (Genome Research Chair), established in 2010, this chair focuses on establishing key core facilities and the development of multidisciplinary research programs that provide leading-edge research in molecular and cell biology, biochemistry and bioinformatics. Dr Abdelhabib semlali is interested to the molecular and genetic aspects of Toll like receptors ( TLRs) and human beta defensins ( hBDs) and their involvement in cancer development and promotion (Oral, colon and ovarian cancer). He is also a member of the research group of Oral Ecology at laval university. This group investigate the effect of cigarette smoke and oral diseases as periodontitis.
