NURS 418 - Community Health Nursing (3+2)

This course will introduce students to become competent to acquire specific theories and practices related to community health nursing. Special emphasis will be placed on theoretical concepts related to health promotion, risk reduction and disease prevention. This course allows students to work independently providing and improving health care to individuals, families and groups in the community. It gives students the opportunity to apply community assessment process, utilize the nursing process, apply the disease prevention strategies and apply the nursing roles and activities based on clients who differ in terms of age, developmental stage, health beliefs values and practices, demonstrate the management and safety of the client, family, and community care through the appropriate use of concepts of leadership, case management, and appropriate communication.
