Toxicology of Natural Products (PHRM 451 )
Safety of natural products in medicine, which deals with the theory and application of toxicology and safety aspects related to natural substances either in industry or practice. Students will apply skills, principles, and knowledge to critically examine the safety of natural products, including basic toxicology, mechanisms of toxicity, types of toxicity, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, adverse reactions contraindications, as well interactions with other herbs or pharmaceutical drugs.
Students will be involved through numerous activities such as: interacting with the materials to determine the safety scenario through peer discussion and examining a case study through peerassessment activity where they will determine their plan of action through the application of materials and concepts both provided and discovered.
