Professor Dr. Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Sheikh Al-Ansari
Professor of botany and faculty member in the Department of Botany and Microbiology, College of Science.
• He holds a bachelor’s degree from King Saud University and a doctorate degree from the British University of Redding.
• He served as Head of the Botany and Microbiology Department - the second position for a Saudi department head since the department’s founding.
• He teaches courses in botany, especially plant ecology, to bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students, in addition to supervising master’s and doctoral theses.
• He currently supervises two doctoral students and one master’s student.
• He has many research papers published in peer-reviewed scientific journals locally and internationally.
• Published many university books and scientific references specialized in the field of plant ecology.
• He has two books under publication by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.
• Participated in writing unified and developed general education books for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
• Participated in the membership of the first Board of Directors of the Saudi Society for Life Sciences since its founding.
• He participated in the editorial board of the Arabian Gulf Journal for Scientific Research, the College of Science Journal, and the Life Sciences Journal - Saudi Society for Life Sciences.
• He chaired and participated in the membership of many committees of the Botany and Microbiology Department.
• He has and continues to referee the promotion of faculty members in Saudi and Arab universities such as Al-Hussein Bin Talal University and the University of Yarmouk, Basra, Mosul, Al-Nahrain, and Kirkuk, in addition to refereeing research papers for publication for some Arab universities.
• He has been honored on several occasions, the most recent of which was receiving the King Saud University Award for Scientific Excellence, Best Book Author Award, Scientific and Engineering Specializations Branch, in 2016.
