introduction/brief CV

Dr. Amanullah Fatehmulla is a professor of physics and a faculty member in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at King Saud University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He is a member of the renewable energy and environment research group (Thin Films and Solar Cells) and the Physics Department Council.

He is also a member of three different committees in the Physics Department: 1. the Academic Accreditation Committee for Postgraduate Studies, 2. the Comprehensive Exam Committee, and 3. the Accreditation and Evaluation Committee of the Physics Program. In 1992, he received his PhD from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India.

His research interests include thin-film technology, solar cells, polymer composites, TCO (gas sensors), metal-induced crystallization (MIC) of amorphous silicon, renewable energy and environment, micro and nanostructured materials, nanoparticles, and energy harvesting & energy storage devices. He has published over 130 research papers in International journals and conference proceedings. He has presented over 37 research papers at international conferences and given thirteen invited talks. He has participated in several national and international conferences and workshops. He was a visiting faculty member during the summers of 2001 & 2002 (two months each) and worked in the photovoltaic division of the HiDEC/Electrical Engineering department at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR 72701, USA. He has been the Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on various scientific research projects. He is currently a Co-Investigator for two research projects (NPST and RG). He has been a KSU professor (PI) for an ISPP. As a teaching faculty, he has taught various undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He has supervised several undergraduate (BSc) and graduate (MSc and PhD) students. Currently, 1 MSc student is under his principal supervision, and one is under Co-supervision. He is the reviewer of several ISI journals. He has reviewed and evaluated many PhD and Master's theses, including scientific project proposals. He has been executing community services as a subject expert/selection committee member for faculty promotions and postgraduate teachers. His biographical record appeared four consecutive times in “Who’s Who in the World” starting in 2011. He is a member of many scientific bodies.
