CLS 411 clinical bacteriology I
This course presents the theoretical and practical aspects of chemotherapeutic agents, their modes of action, methods of evaluation, susceptibility testing, and microbial resistance. The course also covers general characteristics of Gram positive and negative cocci, the aerobic spore and non-spore forming bacilli, and Mycobacteria. The diseases caused by these organisms, the clinical presentation, pathogenesis, modes of transmission, laboratory diagnosis, antibiotic susceptibility testing, and prevention and control will be fully discussed.
