E-commerce
Electronic commerce describes the manner in which transactions take place over networks, mostly the Internet. It is the process of electronically buying and selling goods, services, and information. Additionally, electronic commerce is also about electronically communicating, collaborating, and discovering information. Electronic commerce will impact a significant portion of the world, affecting business, professions, and, people. The purpose of this course is to provide the essentials of electronic commerce – how it is being conducted and managed as well as assessing its major opportunities, limitations, issues, and risks. Major topics include Internet consumer retailing, Business-to-Business e-commerce, m-commerce, e-commerce support services, and e-commerce strategy and implementation. Students will also learn how to build an online business from scratch.
