Dr Mohammad Ajmal Ali, PhD, FEHT (born on 23-07-1977), is presently serving as a Professor in the Department of Botany & Microbiology at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he has taught Molecular Biology and Bionanotechnology since 2010. A native of India, he received his M.S. (1999; University third topper) and PhD (2006) degrees in Botany under the supervision of Professor Arun K. Pandey from TM Bhagalpur University (TMBU), Bhagalpur, Bihar, India. Ali has conducted his postdoctoral work at the Korea Research Institute of Biosciences and Biotechnology, Daejeon, South Korea. Ali's research program encompasses next-generation sequencing, computational chemistry, bioprospecting and bionanotechnology, and have authored/co-authored eight books and over 263 research articles in more than 76 journals of international repute, to mention a few are Nature, Life Science, Current Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Electroanalysis, Saudi Journal of Biological Sciences, Journal of King Saud University – Science, International Journal of Electrochemical Science, RSC Advances, Colloids and Surfaces, Analytical Methods, Sensors and Actuators, Analyst, Applied Organometallic Chemistry, Electrochimica Acta, International Journal of Molecular Sciences, Ionics, Ultrasonics Sonochemistry, Biomolecules, MDPI Plants, Microchemical Journal, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety, New Journal of Chemistry, Microchimica Acta. Ali served as Guest Editor for Special Issue on "Advances in Understanding of SARS-CoV-2 Three Years Since the Outbreak of COVID-19" for the Journal MDPI Molecules. In 2023, Ali had a 3142 Citation, an h-index of 30 at Thomson Reuters, and a Research Gate score of 41.12. Ali has 14 years of teaching and 21 years of research experience from TMBU to KSU. Ali has supervised 6 PhD students, organized five workshops and served as the Principal Investigator of major research projects funded by RG- DSR-KSU, KACST. Ali is an elected fellow of the East Himalayan Society for Sparmatophyte Taxonomy (EHSST), a life member of the International Society of Plant Morphologist, Indian Association for Angiosperm Taxonomy, East Himalayan Society for Spermatophyte Taxonomy, Indian Botanical Society. Ali is a verified peer reviewer at Publons, have reviewed research paper for more than 44 reputed journals, and served as assistant editor of Genetics and Molecular Research, Pleione, Egyptian Journal of Horticulture. Ali has visited North Eastern Hill University, Shillong, Meghalaya, University of North Bengal, Siliguri, and ICAR-RCER Patna as a visiting scholar. Ali have honored with a Certificate of the distinguished paper award by the Association of Chemical Sensors in Taiwan, Chief speaker at KRIBBian International Researcher Day held at KRIBB in 2009, Keynote speaker at the International Conference on Environmental Protection and Bionanotechnology, National Taipei University of Technology, Taiwan, in 2019, International resource person in the workshop at Delhi University in 2009. Ali is presently seving as President of Novel Aspirational Trust since 2022. Ali have delivered Invited lecture at St. Joseph College, Darjeeling, West Bengal, India, KKM College Pakur, Jharkhand, India, in 2015 and National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow, in 2003. Ali has been listed in the World Ranking of Top 2% Scientists in the October 2023 updated database, made at the Stanford University.
