The study of this course starts with the definition of the main concepts of the principles of macroeconomic. Then it elaborates on the methods of measuring gross domestic product and the determination of the level of national’s income. Within the frame of the simple Keynesian macro -model students are introduced the hypotheses related to the consumption and investment functions, as well as the effect of the fiscal and monetary policies on the level of income and the main aggregate variables.  The role of money and its relation the general price level is discussed. In addition, the students are introduced to the concept of the banking system and its role in the economic activity.  Moreover, inflation, economic development and growth, as well as the international trade, the balance of payments and the exchange rate are important topics which are covered.

تبدأ الدراسة في هذا المقرر بتعريف مفهوم مبادئ الاقتصاد الكلي، ثم تتناول طرق قياس الناتج المحلي وتحديد مستوى الدخل، ثم تعرض لفرضيات الاستهلاك والاستثمار، كما تتناول موضوع النقود والمستوى العام للأسعار والدخل، بالإضافة الى لمحه سريعة عن البنوك ودورها في النشاط الاقتصادي، والتضخم والسياسات المالية والنقدية ثم التنمية والنمو الاقتصادي وكذلك التجارة الدولية وميزان المدفوعات وسعر الصرف.
