Introducing and analyzing theories of regional planning and development. Examining a range of different approaches and methodologies for understanding regional development and planning. Reviewing a wide range of topics, including: an introduction to theories of the location of economic activity, trade, various forms of inter-regional connectivity, the processes of growth and contraction in regional development, the reasons for different levels of urban and economic development, and the relationships between more and less developed regions. Presenting regional case studies from around the world as examples to explore regional development processes and their theoretical and applied frameworks.
