Holding Associate Professorship, Dr. Alaofi has managed several collaborated research projects nationally and internationally to accelerate the transfer of knowledge between academic experts and industry. He participated in several initiatives to accelerate the transfer of knowledge between academic experts and industry such as establishing local association for technology transfer between universities and stakeholders inside the Kingdom. Dr. Alaofi received several grants in the field of infectious diseases. In his laboratory at the University, Alaofi’s group focuses on developing and unlocking innovative biotech molecules such as monoclonal antibodies, therapeutic proteins, and peptide-based drugs to be accessible to patients. His research covers the lab-scale of complex biomanufacturing (upstream and downstream processes) of biologics as well as assessment of their safety, efficacy, and stability.
