Dr. Amira Farouk Elagamy is an Egyptian Ophthalmologist and Eye Surgeon, from Mansoura City in the heart of the Nile's Delta. Currently, she is an associate professor in the Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences, College of Applied Medical Sciences, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Amira has been awarded her M.D. in Ophthalmology and Eye Surgery from the Ophthalmic Center, Faculty of Medicine, Mansoura University, Mansoura, Egypt.

Research and Scientific Publications: 20 scientific papers have been published, most of them in international databases, with three currently under publication. The research focused on the impact of diabetes on corneal transparency, on tests that contribute to early glaucoma detection, on factors that lead to optic nerve weakness and atrophy, and on efforts to develop a mechanism for early detection and prevention of vision loss. In addition, she has published a book on ophthalmology entitled "Ocular Diseases for Ophthalmology and Optometry Students" (ISBN: 978-977-844-451-3), deposited at the Egyptian National Library and Archives under number 19758/2023
Supervision of Scientific Research: Supervision of nine master's degree research projects for postgraduate students in the field of optics. In addition to the supervision of thirty graduation projects for students in the optometry doctor program.
Clinical Work: An optometry clinic at King Abdulaziz University Hospital every Tuesday and an early screening clinic for ocular diseases at the Clinics of the College of Applied Medical Sciences at King Saud University.
Community Service Work, such as the Tuesday Diwaniya at the King Salman Social Center to raise awareness of eye diseases, especially glaucoma, and participation in the World Glaucoma Week by examining the optic nerve for men and women at the King Salman Social Center, the World Sight Day event, and Towards a Healthy Life Without Diabetes event, among others, which contributes to serving the community and spreading awareness of eye diseases.
