Dairy Cattle Production

This course introduces the fundamental principles of dairy cattle production, with emphasis on the biology, management, and productivity of dairy herds. Students learn about dairy cattle breeds, lactation physiology, feeding and nutritional requirements, reproductive management, milk production systems, and factors affecting milk yield and quality. The course also covers housing, health management, and modern practices used to improve efficiency and sustainability in dairy farms. Through lectures and practical activities, students gain the basic knowledge required to manage dairy cattle and evaluate production performance in commercial dairy operations.
