ARCHITECTURAL CONSTRUCTION FOR CIVIL ENGINEERS 239 Arch

This course is designed to introduce the students from Civil Engineering into Architecture. It helps them read the architecture documents and facilitate the communications with the team. Course learning Outcomes (CLOs):

Knowledge and Understanding:

Correctly Read architectural drawings and its relationship with structural drawings

  • Semester Project work
  • Final exam.

Classify different architectural & structural drawings symbols and terminology

Cognitive Skills:

Assess the type of structural system used for a specific architectural design

  • Regular meetings with instructor

Undertake the production of professional architectural & structural plans

Interpersonal Skills & Responsibility:

Organize work in groups of 2 or 3 students to produce an architectural & structural plans of a selected villa 

Study samples of professional drawings that are usually done by consultants or contractors

Use manual and digital tools to produce professional drawings
