II. COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to provide students the core knowledge, skills and abilities associated with basic principles of pharmacy practice management and marketing.
III. COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the completion of the course series, the student should be able to:
1. Discuss current trends in Pharmacy Practice Management.
2. Understand and use skills required to manage pharmacy operations such as leadership, planning, and decision making.
3. Describe and compare the advantages and disadvantages of various pharmacy automation/information used to facilitate medication dispensing.
4. Utilize financial and productivity analysis to prepare a financial plan/budget for a pharmacy practice.
5. Apply the concepts of performance improvement to pharmacy practice settings.
6. Synthesize a plan for a contemporary pharmacy practice management issue.
7. Describe the basic concepts of pharmaceutical marketing.
8. Understand the different pharmaceutical marketing strategies and the product life cycle.
9. Apply the concept of Situational Analysis to real world marketing issues.
10. Devolve skills needed for pharmaceutical marketing promotion and communication.
