علم الزلازل الكمي
The primary goal of this course is to acquaint students with the fundamental equations that form the basis of critical theoretical and numerical methods employed in seismology. It aims to offer a foundational understanding of the mathematical and physical principles that underpin quantitative seismology. The course curriculum covers various topics, including aspects of mechanics, wave and vibration concepts, representation of seismic earthquake sources, kinematics, directivity, the propagation of seismic waves in layered media, computation of synthetic seismograms, focal mechanisms, fault mechanics and models, surface waves, anelastic attenuation, and the prediction of ground motion.
