IS566: Advanced Topics in Cyberspace and Cybersecurity
This course will cover state-of-the-art advances in cybersecurity, with particular emphasis on emerging trends, threats, and cyber domains, such as cyberwar and espionage. Topics include information assurance, advanced digital forensics, new approaches to cybersecurity management, and advanced vulnerability analysis. Students will learn how information security control mechanisms are implemented in cyberspace, examining contemporary security guidelines, practices, and applications in real-world computing environments.
After completing this course, the students will be able to:
- Recognize the state-of-the-art advances in the cybersecurity field.
- Identify and describe emerging trends, threats, and cyber areas. Including cyber war and espionage.
- Gain knowledge of major trends in innovation in cybersecurity solutions to combat emerging cyber threats and the use of AI in the cybersecurity domain.
- Research to solve a problem related to cybersecurity and its applications to information systems.
