My current areas of study are mainly cyanobacteria (blue green algae) systematics and taxonomy. I work primarily with soil cyanobacteria in biological soil crusts, but I also collaborate on projects involving molecular cyanobacteria & algae from all habitats in which they can be found.

I have published numerous peer-reviewed studies in internationally recognized journals ranked within the top 10%, and have contributed significantly to the scientific community through external research reviewing and academic promotion evaluations. I was also honored with the Research Excellence Award in my department, in addition to receiving multiple Certificates of Appreciation from the Deanship of Scientific Research for my contributions and achievements. My research activities include securing several competitive research grants and establishing international research collaborations with multidisciplinary teams across global institutions. My academic career includes extensive experience in university-level teaching, curriculum development, student supervision, and research project mentoring. I have delivered a wide range of training programs, scientific workshops, and environmental awareness initiatives, and have actively led and moderated sessions in national and international scientific conferences. In addition to my academic roles, I have held key administrative positions, including serving as Vice Dean of the College of Applied Studies and Community Service, where I oversaw academic programs, strategic initiatives, and community partnership activities. My professional contributions further extend to national educational programs such as Mawhiba, as well as participation in Qiyas examination development and teacher assessment processes. These diverse experiences reflect a strong background in academic leadership, quality assurance, program management, research development, and institutional advancement within higher education.
