د. سلطان بن محمد بجاد العتيبي

الدكتور سلطان العتيبي هو أستاذ مساعد في قسم البصريات بجامعة الملك سعود، وزميل زائر في جامعة نيو ساوث ويلز في سيدني، أستراليا واستشاري متخصص في انزيم التيلوميريز و اعصاب القرنيه وخلايا القرنيه المناعيه. يتركز نطاق بحثه على مؤشرات الالتهاب والبروتينات ومؤشرات الالتهاب العصبيه  في طبقة الدموع وعلاقتها بأمراض العيون والامراض الجسدية. 

سيركز العمل البحثي المستقبلي على الحالات التالية: مرض جفاف العين، مرض السكري، الاعتلال العصبي الطرفي، الأمراض التنكسية العصبية، إصابات الدماغ الرضحية والشيخوخة.

Dr Sultan Alotaibi is an Assistant Professor and an Optometrist at the Optometry Department at King Saud University, also a Visiting Fellow at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. His research scope is focused on tear film cytokines, proteins, and neuropeptides in relationship to ocular and systemic conditions. Sultan is also specialised in telomerase complex and in changes in the inflammatory markers of the ocular surface that are corneal immune cells and corneal nerve. Future work will focus on the following conditions: Dry eye disease, diabetes, peripheral neuropathy, neurodegenerative disease, TBI and ageing.
