Review of The Moon's Scarf: Women with or without a Hi-jab
This is an English review of an Arabic book entitled The Moon's Scarf: Women with or without the Hijab. The book has been recently published and tackles the concept of women's headcovering known to Muslim and non-Muslim people as the hijab from historical, cultural, moral and religious perspectives. The review elaborates on the various chapters comprising the book and provides some critical appraisal of the treatment of this topic as it briefly summarizes each chapter. There seems to have been an agreement on the cultural and religious imposition of the hijab on women throughout the different stages of human life. It is hoped that this review will encourage historians and theologists to further explore the topic of women's headcoverings across cultures and religions.
