The Impact of Talent Management on Work Engagement in Travel Agencies: The Moderating Role of Emotional Intelligence
This study aims to explore the impact of talent management on employee engagement in tourism and hospitality organizations, focusing on the moderating role of emotional intelligence in this relationship. To achieve this objective, a survey was used to collect data from a sample of employees working in travel agencies in Saudi Arabia. The study relied on the analysis of 391 valid questionnaires using SPSS v.28. The results highlighted a significant and positive impact of talent management on both employee engagement and emotional intelligence, and a similarly significant and positive impact of emotional intelligence on employee engagement. Furthermore, the results showed an increase in the correlation between talent management and employee engagement when emotional intelligence was incorporated, indicating the moderating role of emotional intelligence in strengthening the relationship between them. The study concluded that emotional intelligence is not merely a facilitating factor, but a moderating factor that contributes to improving the relationship between talent management and employee engagement. This necessitates that travel agencies develop strategies to enhance emotional intelligence within their talent management programs to improve organizational performance and increase employee engagement.
