Linkage analysis of Chromosome 11 in Brazilian and Colombian population. Simulation study was done to evaluate the performance of linkage analysis.
Chromosome 11 was chosen for linkage to Class III malocclusion because previous studies found areas of interest on chromosome 11. Methods: 17 families from Brazil (178 individuals) and 15 families from Colombia (248 individuals) were used in this analysis. PLINK used to identify Mendelian inconsistent parent-offspring trios. Power calculation was done by creating a data set to simulate empirical LOD scores given that the disease and the marker are linked. SLINK and SIMULATE software were used to simulate the data conditional on the phenotype given in the pedigree file , at the recombination fraction given in the data file. Type I Error was calculated by using SIMWALK2. Results : Conclusion: Simulation results support potential signal on chromosome11.Current results are for the MMLS work underway to compute MODs (Maximized LOD Scores)

Objective: Genetic markers were genotyped spanning the 1p22.1-22.2 region, within the Erythrocyte Membrane Protein Band 4.1 (EPB4.1) gene at 1p36 and within the Matrillin-1 (MATN1)gene to examine…
