Pervaporation Membrane for Cyclohexanone Separation from Cyclohexane Cyclohexanol Cyclohexanone Mixture

A Poly(Styrene–Maleic anhydride-Dihydropyrane) membrane was synthesized and tested for pervaporation separation of cyclohexanone from cyclohexane/cyclohexanol-cyclohexanone mixtures. The membranes were synthesized by cationic polymerization of styrene, maleic anhydride and dihydropyrane over H3PW12O40.13H2O heteropolyacid as solid acid catalyst. The results showed excellent pervaporation properties. A selectivity of 100% of cyclohexanone separation was obtained.
