:Course Description

This course provides a mastery of entry level nursing skills and competencies for a variety of health care settings are as important to nurses as theoretical knowledge. In addition it is designed to introduce the nursing student to a wide variety of basic clinical nursing skills, which progress in level of difficulty. Emphasis is placed on the utilization of scientific concepts and principles, and ethical/ legal aspects as a guide in developing competence of these skills. The nursing process is the foundation on which class room and laboratory activities are based and provide a focus for all nursing interventions

Course Objectives and Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to
      Describe the purpose (s) of performing selected nursing procedures 
      Prepare patient, environment and equipments for safe and efficient administration of selected nursing procedures.
      Perform selected nursing procedures in safe, effective and efficient manner.
    Evaluate patient response (s) for selected nursing procedures.
   Document nursing activities utilizing the nursing process
