The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between Facebook usage and the academic performance of college students. Facebook usage is the independent variable, while the dependent variable is college GPA. This research considers college GPA as the measure of academic performance for college students. Facebook, the independent variable, is significant owing to the increasing importance of Facebook usage. Many studies have shown the effects of Facebook usage on college students’ academic performance. These effects can be either a positive help in the process of developing college students performance or a negative, hindering the college students’ academic performance.
