In the sixties of the previous century, the role of museum education has emerged as an educational field and a profession practiced at international museums. Ever since, the museum has gained an educational and teaching role in the educational process. The activation of museum education in special education institutes and programs is considered crucial in developing teaching strategies for special education students. The current study aims to identify the obstacles to activating  museum education programs in special education institutes from the point of view of  teachers in those institutes and programs. The descriptive approach, which investigates the problem and collects data and describe it accurately to be analyzed and discussed, has been used in this study. The results of the current study shows that there are several obstacles which impedes activating museum education in special education institutes and programs: some are related to museum education program, others are related to students while the rest are related to museums. The results also shows that the sample in (Autism) major believes that obstacles related to the museums are more, compared to their colleagues in (Audio) major. Moreover, the sample which consists of male participants believes that obstacles related to museums in applying museum education in special education institutes and programs are more, compared to their female counterparts.
