BCH 453:Hormones

o educate students with informations about hormones. 
 Upon completion of this course, the students should be able to:  
Know the basic terms and concepts about endocrine activity.   Indicate where specific glands are located in the body.   Describe the features and compare between the protein and steroid hormones.   Describe the activity of the hypothalamus   Compare the tissues and hormonal activity of the anterior and posterior pituitary glands, including FSH, LH, TSH, PRL, ACTH, GH, oxytocin and ADH.   Discuss the major hormones of the thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas, and adrenal glands.   Discuss the major activity of sex hormones including estrogens, progesterone, and testosterone.  
To teach the student's detailed information about hormone disturbance –related diseases.  To develop in the students' an awareness with role of life styles in the prevention of hormone-related diseases.
