Bio:
I am a computer scientist with more than 7 years of experience in data science and artificial intelligence. I obtained my Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science from the University of Southampton. I am currently an Assistant Professor at the College of Computer and Information Sciences (CCIS), King Saud University. My spark is in RDI (Research, Development and Innovation), and I find it amusing to get ideas in the production line, and that's where my focus is.
I am interested in data science, web science and network science, I call them the collaborative sciences. I have worked on many projects in the intersection of the aforementioned sciences such as studying the spread of information on social networks, ranking content retrieved from social media and analysing location-based data.

Thesis: Investigating Cascades in Social Networks: Structural and Temporal Aspects
The thesis topic falls under the intersection between data science, web science and network science. Precisely it looks into analyzing the way information spreads on social networks, often recognized as information diffusion process. The thesis studies cascades - the manifestation of the information diffusion process- from two different perspectives structural and temporal. The thesis also looks into analyzing social network platforms’ functionality.
