Research Experience

  • Conducting a multi-study project in transvaginal ultrasound practice involving simulation-based training, University College Dublin, 2016- 2021. The project included the following studies: 
  1.  A systematic review of the effect of simulation-based training on developing transvaginal ultrasound skills. 
  2.  A cross-sectional hospital survey among Irish hospitals.  
  3.  A pre-test/post-test study examined the effect of simulation-based training on learning transvaginal ultrasound skills within an educational programme. 
  4.  A phenomenological qualitative study explored simulation- and clinical- based training for developing and improving transvaginal ultrasound skills. 
  5. A convergent mixed-methods study evaluated the practicality of ultrasound simulation-based learning.   
  • A research team member, University of Queensland, 2011:

The research project examined the effects of life intervention on the changes in the intramyocellular lipids of the calf muscle of adolescents with high BMI. My role in this research involved analyzing MR spectroscopes to measure intramyocellular-lipids change.
