Arabic Speaker Recognition
Funding Body
KSU-KACST National Plan for Science and Technology (NPST).
Abstract
In this project, we tackled speaker recognition aiming to contribute to the existence of a robust, channel independent, session independent, environment independent Arabic Speaker Recognition system. The main objective of this system is to add some new values to the Arabic Database recognition, as well as participating in the establishment of some new techniques and standards in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We developed a very rich Arabic database in terms of text, speakers, channels, environments and sessions. We proposed feature extraction technique and compared it with commonly used speech features. We also used some state of the art techniques, mainly the GMM, GMM-UBM generative modeling techniques, as well as the SVM classification. We have modified the SVM technique. We also completed a brief analysis on effect of Arabic text on speaker recognition.
