I would like to add My  Philosophy on which I based helping my students learn:
A research paper of quality comes with two main bases: First, a student should be passionate about the topic of his/her research. To be sure my students are  such, every student is encouraged to choose the research topic he/she likes. Second, continuous improvement with dedication should yield a research paper meets the standards of excellency that we would like to see our students achieve.
One last word:
When I applied for my PhD, the chairman of the accounting department who was also the director of the accounting doctoral program at that time at Case provided me with a document to read to be sure that I understand  what I was putting myself into and to be clear of what was expected from me. I still remember this phrase "You can be your best friend, or you can be your worst enemy." (emphasis added). This piece of advice holds true whenever an individuate undertakes a research project. Self-motivation and a vision toward one's objectives are a key for one's success.
