Bio
Dr. Abdelfettah Belghith is currently a full Professor at the college of computer and information sciences, the department of computer science at King Saud University. He is since 1992 a full Professor of Computer Science at the National School of Computer Sciences (Ecole Nationale des Sciences de l’Informatique, ENSI), University of Manouba, Tunisia. He received his Ph.D. and his Master of Science both in computer science from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) respectively in 1987 and 1982. He was the Director General of the National Agency for Research Promotion (ANPR) (October 2013-June 2014), the Director of the National School of Computer Sciences (August 1st, 2010, November 2013), the Director of the Doctoral School (Graduate School) STICODE of the University of Manouba (October 2009, November 2013), the Chair of the National Doctoral and Habilitation committee in computer science September 2001-September 2008 and August 2010- November 2013). As the Director General of the National Agency for Research Promotion (ANPR) at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Tunisia, he conducted and coordinates several multi millions Euros research and innovation structuring cooperation projects. His research and teaching interests focus on Advanced Heterogeneous Networking and Applications. Particularly, he works on Cooperative and Secure Intelligent Transportation Systems, ad hoc networks, sensor networks and applications, mesh networks, WiMax and LTE, energy conservation and green networking, unicast and multicast routing under QoS constraints in wired and wireless networks, secure inter vehicular communications, secure localization techniques, management and optimization of hand off mechanisms, QoS management in wired and wireless networks, performance evaluation and protocol optimization and specification. He is the author of more than 300 refereed journal articles and peer reviewed international and regional conference papers. He has been serving on several reputed international conference Technical Program Committees (IEEE Globecom, IEEE ICC, IEEE LCN, IEEE GIIS, IEEE WiMob, IEEE VTC, WiOpt, etc). He organized and served as the technical Committee Chair and the organizing committee chair of many international and regional conferences including Net4Cars'15, WiOpt’14, IEEE Region 8 Melecon’12, ICWUS 2010, ACS/IEEE FT-ASN 2010, ICT-FTDA-DN 2008, CFIP’06, IFIP MedHocNet’03, Africom’98, MCSEAI’98, etc.). At ENSI, he managed and conducted several national and international collaborative research projects (Tuniso-German ICT projects, STIC, CMCU, AUF, PRF, etc.). He has built strong academic and research cooperation with several international institutions (UCLA, EPM, Uni.Passau, TelecomBretagne, INRIA, IRISA, Labri, LIP6, LAAS, LIA, UCLA, LDIOM, SI2M, Passau, etc.) with whom several Masters and Ph.D.s have been conducted under joint supervisions. As the head of the HANA Research Laboratory, he has supervised over ninety Master and Ph.D. theses on advanced networking and networking applications, and more than 150 Engineering Final Graduating Projects. He is a senior member of IEEE, the past chair of the Tunisian IEEE Section, the current Chair of the IEEE Tunisian ComSoc chapter, the current Chair of the IEEE Tunisian VTS Chapter and the current president of ACTTIC (the association of Tunisian researchers in information and communication technologies).
