URD561 - Presentation Techniques in Urban Design

Having a central and an important role, this course deals with the issue of representation and visualization in Urban Design. Through a series of lectures and readings, the course provides a solid background on visualization and representation in Urban Design and focuses, particularly, on their use in Urban Design projects. The course then introduces the well-known visualization and representation traditional and computer-based techniques and illustrates their characteristics. Upon building the background, an Urban Design project is then employed with the aim of enabling students to explore the various visualization and representation techniques in order to determine the most suitable of them.
