CEN465 - Digital image processing
Course description (catalog)
Quantitative models of imaging systems, spatial domain and frequency domain methods, digital filter design for image enhancement and restoration, edge detection, image denoising, image segmentation, image enhancement, image restoration, image compression, and image representation and description.

6. Specific goals for the course
a. Course Learning Outcomes: This course requires the student to demonstrate the following
1.Introduction to digital image processing and the human visual system.
2.Understand the fundamentals of digital images and their formation.
3.Describe the concept of sampling, quantization, interpolation and the relationship between pixels.
4.Apply intensity transformations and histogram processing.
5.Apply filtering in the spatial and spectral domains.
6.Apply restoration, enhancement, compression and decompression.
