Selected Topics in Electrical Engineering I (Radar Systems)

This course provides an undergraduate-level introduction to fundamental radar principles. The course covers the radar concept and basic configurations, electromagnetic-wave behavior, radar waveforms and measurements, the radar range equation, receiver noise and signal-to-noise ratio, radar search and detection fundamentals, propagation effects, target reflectivity and radar cross section, and Doppler phenomenology and pulsed-radar data acquisition.
The tutorial component reinforces analytical problem-solving and radar-system calculations. The practical component uses MATLAB to model and visualize the principles covered in the selected textbook sections and to connect theory with radar-system analysis.
