I am an Assistant Professor of Optometry at King Saud University. I completed my PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, and Behaviour (now the programme renamed as Psychology and Vision Science) at the University of Leicester in 2025, where I investigated the role of binocular disparity in slant perception and cyclovergence. Prior to that, I obtained an MSc in Optometry and Vision Science from Pacific University in 2016 and a BSc in Optometry and Vision Science from King Saud University in 2011. My work combines experimental design with computational modeling, using maximum likelihood estimation frameworks to explain how the brain integrates multiple visual cues.

My research focuses on binocular vision, depth perception, visual psychophysics, and psychology. I use psychophysical methods and eye-tracking to examine how the visual system integrates disparity signals and controls eye movements. I am particularly interested in how binocular disparity and vergence interact to support accurate three-dimensional perception, and how sensory information is weighted during cue combination.

Alongside my research, I teach optometry through lectures, academic supervision, quality committee work, and other administrative responsibilities. My academic work is complemented by clinical training in refraction, binocular vision assessment, and ocular health evaluation, allowing me to link fundamental research with applied practice.
