الترجمة المنظورة - ON/SIGHT TRANSLATION

Assessment: 2 mid-terms 25% each + Weekly Reading assignment 10%

- Dates of mid-terms:

                                  mid-term 1: Tues. 12/3/2013 and Tues. 19/3/2013
                                  mid-term 2: Tues. 12/3/2013 and Tues. 19/3/2013

 

- Weekly Reading assignment:

1. Choose an article of average length from any English language newspaper, local (Arab News, Riyadh Daily, etc.)or international (The Times, the Guardian, Washington Post, etc.)
2. Read the article with the help of a mono-lingual English Dictionary.
3. Summarise the article orally and record your summary.
4. Cut and paste the article on A4 showing the following: your name, group letter and serial number on the left side of the sheet; assignment number in the middle; name of the newspaper, date and page from which you have taken the article.
5. Put all your articles (10 at least) in a file to be discussed and collected, together with the recordings, Tues. 7/5/2013.
